I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband spent 2 weeks in this facility during June 2020. He was left complete uncovered, no top sheet, call bell dangling to the floor, door to his room completely shut so his calls for help could not be heard (he was unable to get out of bed on his own). They had to report that he had fallen out of bed overnight. (No bed alarm). He had stopped eating, partly to do with drugs?, choice? But interim nursing director said she would have meal assist for him. While I observed at window Sunday June 28 just before 6pm, he was uncovered to his chest in bed, dinner plate in front of him and no assist. He passed away Monday (probably while we were conferencing on the phone, with me suggesting again that he needed hospice). I had told them on the Friday I felt he was unsafe there and mentioned Hospice. I was told I should give it more time for the appetite stimulator to work. I am so sad that he passed under those condition. Please make sure you visit you loved ones window often no matter what facility they are in. With no visitors allowed we cannot be sure what care they are being given if they are unable to advocate for themselves.

Everything about this place is wonderful. I am very pleased with my choice at placing my husband here. I love how the staff interact with the residents. The rooms are very large with plenty of room to move around and very clean. If i have a question the staff is very qwick at finding the right person to answer them and they all are very happy to answer any and all questions. The residents seem to enjoy all the activities. What I observed every resident looks very clean and happy. There are so many amenities offered to many to mention. I can tell you I am very happy and proud to have chosen to place my husband here. The care he is getting is so outstanding and positive. Every bit of my interaction with any and all staff is wonderful. I give palm gardens in largo fl. A++++++ and applaud everyone who works there.

This was a clean and good size nursing home facility, but nurses were very limited in skills. Aids were good, but the management and nursing didn't communicate with family and had med errors and multiple delay of treatment episodes. I was there a lot and observed nurses sitting around and not assisting with pt. care and weren't knowledgeable of their assigned patients activities or progress. Requests from families were not followed thru with, unless brought attention to multiple times. They like to sedate patients to make them comply.

I would not consider Palm Gardens of Largo for rehab services for anyone that I cared about. My 88-year old mother was there for eight days and both physically and mentally deteriorated due to the staff not coordinating and communicating effectively (if at all). My siblings and I agreed to pull our mother out of Palm Garden of Largo once we realized the level of their incompetence and unprofessionalism. I would urge anyone searching for proper rehab services to really do their research. We took Palm Garden of Largo on a recommendation by a nurse who had never stepped foot in the place (we later found out). I would gladly speak to anyone about this with detailed notes I kept throughout the unfortunate and traumatizing experience.. --Peter Newton

This is an EXCELLENT rehab facility. My mother has made tremendous progress because of the caring, skilled and respectful PT and OT staff. In addition, everyone on the team is patient and family-centered and has done so much to enhance her recovery. Thank you!!

My wife resides at the Palm Garden facility on Starkey Rd. ,now for one and a half years. She suffered a stroke and cannot walk, she can hardly do anything for herself. From the receptions, office, maintenance, support and medical staff they make you fell important. Always a smile with a genuine hello. I visit my wife every day, most times twice daily. I do look for faults, because of what you sometimes hear about nursing homes. I do often ask my wife if she have any issues with the staff. She very happy with the treatment and so am I. Her clothes are always clean, she gets her baths on time and most importantly she gets her medication on time. There are always activities for everyone. What more can I asked for? I would recommend this facility to anyone. 100%. A special shout out to Wanda. Thanks.

My Mother-in-law resides in this facility for just under a year. The staff are very kind to her and treat her with respect. They go out of their way to make sure she is happy and well cared for. The building has recently undergone renovations and is absolutely beautiful. I have no complaints about the care or facilities. Our experience has been great.

Great place! My father was there for 3months 11 years ago after a head injury. He could not have gotten better care! Everyone there goes out of their way with both patients and family. Mon was there for a few months after her triple bypass a couple of years ago and is back there with breathing difficulties now. Another great thing is that many of the staff are still there 14 years after my Dad was there and the staff still remembers our family. My parents have been treated like family members! Palm Gardens is the next best thing to being home!
